The Natural Value of Property and its Management
A Course Participant's Report:
For me it seems that nature is really unclaimed property, it is its own manager and under its own intellectual management. Its unheralded, non-money value is that it produces a peaceful co-existence between natural systems both within and without a human being.
I did the course activity while walking the back property of my friend, a property manager who makes money from this property's management. This property is a clear, rolling meadow surrounded by trees. As I turned slowly "finger framing" different wild areas that were obviously under "nature's management," I was stopped by one place - a small clearing among the trees. It looked so peaceful there in the sunlight. I asked for nature's management of myself, for natural guidance to understand the unclaimed wisdom I felt there. My attraction to that wild place deepened and the peace I saw on that property enveloped me. I sensed a brightening of the green color and sensed the value of a clear space, a peace within me. I became more peaceful and saw the property becoming more a clear space within me than a clear space in Nature. That had a rare unclaimed value in itself, more treasured than money.I began to feel the warmth of the sun on this property, the touch of the air that flowed through me, bringing the scent of clean, the moisture of rain soaked earth and grass, the sound of the air and I breathing each other, the life there. My eyes registered only a space. I realized that my friend was not the property manager here, this was unclaimed, a natural value. I felt myself in both places at once - one being at peace; one looking at peace. There was no difference in the feeling at either "site". The only difference was the story in my mind from my internal manager who wrangles me into believing that a peaceful human is not a natural human.
I learned that I don't need human management or have to generate money or force to be successful in working through the box-like (perceived) maze of my mind to find a strong center because I am a manager. I AM my own strong center and the creative power of my own peace - and - I am a being whose shape and form is shaped and formed by the management energy of nature's essence, its spirit if you will. I trust it and feel increasingly comfortable with it as I discover that I share it.
I came to realize that nothing in nature can really be defined or named as a property, nor can a person be a property manager. Nature is under its own special management, one that values peace within and around humanity.Thanks for writing me Susan. I get such a good feeling about your feelings about the need to make money from property and its management. I can feel the breeze cooling the air and the happiness in the birds at the special time of day that you describe. I too like the phrase-- "With developed consciousness, all entities feel attraction for one another --- attraction is the Law of nature." Yes, that's it. Attraction. That's the manager.
These activities are about developing a conscious sensory relationship with nature which--being something we already have and know--should be an easy thing. I find there is so much resistance from people to make the time for something that is so important that, in your words--"I relate my own existence in this unclaimed connection with nature. Without this value I can not think of my very survival."
