Natural Passion and Holistic Patience
A course participant's report:
I see an attractive tree that begs my passion. I get close to it and choose to interact with a leaf. I feel it is fine for me to interact with the leaf. I try to be gentle. I look at its top, at the bottom; I compassionately touch it. It is smooth on one side and rough on the other. Its temperature does not stand out, it is similar to the environment temperature. I smell it, its smell does not stand out either; I gently rub it and smell again; now I perceive a smell I recognize: orange. The smell is the sensation that I feel describes the essence of his leaf. I name it "boha". I ask boha what it wants to teach me and the response is that I need to be patient and wait to learn the lesson. I think this makes a lot of sense, especially in these kinds of activities. I get anxious and impatient and I want to quickly get the message. I believe boha shares with me a natural truth and that is that some messages (knowledge) does not come right away, especially if I have not made true connection and am expecting to learn something without really making the essential previous contact.
I go drink some water to satiate my thirst. My thirst is direct knowledge. It can be on the foreground of my consciousness or in the background, but I do not need to tell myself that I am thirsty, I can feel it, I know it. I also know the feeling of satiation. I know when I have had enough; I can feel my throat being moist and my belly being full. I survive thanks to these natural feelings and my ability to satisfy them. This is the knowledge that we omit, that allows all living beings to exist, to connect and collaborate with each other.
The things I learn from this work is that my impatience is my need for clarity and understanding and that as I become patient the answers arise. My ability to feel thirst is a matter of life and death. I am a person who gets good feelings from drinking water and from smelling an orange leaf.
