Natural Systems Leadership Training for Educational Skill Development
An Open Letter to National and Local Leaders:
Are you aware of the critical challenge that we fail to meet?
1. Most nature-centered people demonstrate that humanity is not born to think in ways that produce today's stressful problems. Leaders and leadership in every segment of our society have educated and led us to today's alarming state of the world and its people(s). This presents a major challenge.
2. In theory and practice, every challenge a conscious individual encounters has two major components:
...-a logical-rational part
...-a psychological sensory-emotional part.
Both parts must be satisfied to solve crippling problems that deteriorate healthy relationships.
3. We suffer our critical health and relationship troubles because we don't address both parts of them. The unaddressed parts of our disorders simply find new allies and our problems continue.
- The science and arts of environmental protection and management are crippled because they do not contain an effective psychological component.
- The science and arts of psychology, therapy and healing are crippled because their skills do not contain an effective environmental component.
- The science and art of sustainable well being, personal growth and social responsibility is crippled because it does not include a supportive global web-of-life community component.
The missing educational training component in each of the above three areas is the science and art of Organic Psychology. Organic Psychology helps us transform our unwarranted conquest, exploitation and deterioration of vital natural systems, within and about us, into muturally supportive relationships with these systems.
When natural systems are dysfunctional, we lose nature's beauty, grace, balance and restorative powers. They ordinarily support the optimums, diversity and purity of life; they prevent life from being crippled, including the life of our psyche.
Natural systems normally sustain the well being of the environment and our mind, body and spirit. By design, the skill development in Organic Psychology provides us with a readily available human service antidote and preventative for our trespasses against natural systems.
Because natural systems are part of all things, by helping us nurture them Organic Psychology helps our thinking and feeling create whole solutions.
The Leadership Challenge
The thinking of most leaders, to our loss, is often a pawn of destructive aspects of industrial society. For this reason, our mentality is usually too crippled to either recognize or help us enjoy the benefits of Organic Psychology.
To address this challenge, the Institute of Global Education offers Organic Psychology as a tool for individuals who are conscious of our great dilemmas and want to help themselves and others overcome them (actually, that's everybody at some level).
With minimal online training in Organic Psychology, the consciousness of caring individuals becomes a potent leadership and management force; it helps us transform the troubles we suffer into wholeness that we celebrate.
Organic Psychology offers a healing process that enhances human services and the well being of the industrial world. It helps caring individuals implement their deeper hopes and instincts to live in reasonable balance with people and habitats:
- It enables these individuals to address, and help others address, how we have been crippled by a lack of education, therapy and leadership that helps our disorders become cooperative relationships.
- It increases the ability of any skill development or profession to operate more effectively and in a good way. ("good" meaning contributing to the welfare of the whole)
Dear Internet Visitor,
Congratulations for having sought and found this leadership web page. We applaud your dedication to solving disorders that deteriorate the health and safety or our society and the world. In appreciation, we offer you a significant tool to help further your efforts. Its readily applied process empowers you to address the source of many troubles.
"A drunk one night lost his watch in the middle of a city block; he never found it because he searched for it at the street corner where the light was much brighter."
In industrial society, isn't the light we see misleading us? Exactly how bright are we?
"Most of our populace and all of our leaders are participating in a mass hallucinatory fantasy in which:
- the megatons of waste we dump in our rivers and bays are not poisoning the water, our body or our spirit.
- the hydrocarbons we pump into the air are not changing the climate of the world or deteriorating our health.
- overfishing is not depleting the oceans, over consumption does not hurt the environment.
- living estranged from nature's grace and restorative powers does not reduce our resilience or result in dysfunctions.
- fossil fuels will never run out,
- our senses and feelings are not an important part of the way our natural systems work.
- wars that kill masses of civilians are an appropriate way to keep our hands on what's left,
- we are not desperately overdrawn at the environmental or emotional bank,
- sensory activities that connect our thinking to nature's healing ways don't help us increase our well being,
- and really, although by the age of seven our kids bond to this mass hallucination and need to be drugged, they are all right."
..........- Barbara Kingsolver. (edited)
The reason we continue to suffer our most pressing problems is because, like a drunk, our thinking is disturbed (1) We are not holistic, we can't find the irresponsible parts of psychology and education that cause our personal and environmental troubles. They have recently been identified; we must now address them.
Let me risk sounding as stupid as the rocket scientist who said, "The intense heat of the Sun is no problem; we can land people there by doing it at night." I'll take this risk because our situation is no joking matter. My research shows that we and the environment suffer because our thinking has learned to ignore two scientific facts about education and psychology:
1) To increase our personal, social and environmental well-being we must effectively address a powerful debilitating ailment, Natural System Dysfunction (NSD). It sustains most of the disorders that injure Earth and humanity.
2) Organic Psychology provides us with hope from a potent, readily available antidote and preventative for NSD (2, 3).
Natural System Dysfunction diminishes health and wellness in industrial society by deteriorating natural systems within us. This desensitizes our psyche, limits our thinking and increases our vulnerability to the disorders we suffer (4).
Organic Psychology, free of charge, provides unique transformational management, skill development and human services. It enables us to strengthen the vigor of natural systems within and about us, toughen our resilience and increase our wellness while reducing health and environmental budgets (5).
Echoing advanced thinkers throughout history (see right column), Psychologist Stephen Aizenstat has noted that, "Human behavior is rooted most deeply in nature's intentions and desire. The rhythms of nature underlie all of human interaction: religious traditions, economic systems, cultural and political organization. When these human forms betray the natural psychic pulse, people and societies get sick, nature is exploited and entire species are threatened."
Our health and relationships suffer because Natural System Dysfunction conditions us to unnecessarily spend over 95 percent of our time indoors and disconnect 99 percent of our thinking from the restorative functions of natural systems. Plagued by this nature deficit, our lives and mentality are toxic, not organic. To our loss, our leadership works against natural systems instead of with their grace. balance and regenerative powers (6).
"We are dysfunctional socially and environmentally because we are cut off and isolated from the world of nature and the natural."
Vice President, USA
Author, Earth in the Balance
"What we are doing to the forests of the world is but a mirror reflection of what we are doing to ourselves and to one another."
By empowering your healthy values, hopes and dreams, you can provide leadership and guidance to your community in a good way. To enable yourself in this regard, and to increase the public's trust in you, we urge you to support and use Organic Psychology as a tool to help reverse NSD and our dilemmas (7). To this end, we offer you the dedicated services of Organic Psychology human services trainers and consultants (8).

Overview and History:
Project NatureConnect, a sub-contractor for the Institute of Global Education (IGE), a special NGO consultant to United Nations Environmental and Social Council, has identified a debilitating mental ailment, Natural System Dysfunction (NSD), as well as an antidote for it.
Natural System Dysfunction diminishes wellness in industrial society. It deteriorates natural systems within us and this reduces our resilience to other disorders we suffer. NSD keeps us unhealthy and our health costs high.
Any disorder is a condition in which there is a mental, physical, or psychological disturbance of normal functioning; one that perturbs us, makes our psyche uneasy or causes us undue distress, worry or alarm. NSD is a pervasive disorder that we suffer and usually deny.
NSD produces sensory deprivation that seldom registers in our awareness. It harms us by rendering us incapable of registering and thinking with the full range of inborn protective and supportive natural senses that we inherit from natural systems within and about us.
Our natural senses are vital immunity and resilience functions of our natural systems. When they are unavailable or impaired, our thinking is forced to make less sense. This produces a void in us that distresses our mind, body and spirit. It makes us more dependent on, as well as vulnerable to, detrimental products and relationships.
By blocking us from enjoying our natural ability to register the grace, balance and healing ways of natural systems, NSD fuels our disorders and reduces the effectiveness of their treatment. Because NSD stops our thinking and acting from enlisting nature's recuperative powers our troubles continue.
We are part of nature. NSD injures us by preventing our thinking from registering sensory messages sent by natural systems that sustain our health. Plagued by this deficit, our lives and mentality are seldom organic. To our loss, we work against nature instead of with its grace. balance and restorative powers.
IGE has produced a readily available remedy for Natural System Dysfunction. It is an easily learned online Organic Psychology that enables us to strengthen the vigor of natural systems within and about us. It helps us bring to consciousness and revitalize deteriorated natural systems; this toughens our resilience.
The theory and science of Organic Psychology empowers us to think with nature. It helps us transform our disorders and improve our health by enabling us, at will, to tap our mind into the supportive and renewing ways of natural systems within and around us. They help us compost and recycle our mind pollution, the hurt and destructive aspects of our thinking.
"Nature is an ever-present power of recuperation."
-Richard E. Dodge in a 1915 Journal of Geography.
"The human need for nature is linked not just to the material exploitation of the environment but also to the influence of the natural world on our emotional, cognitive, aesthetic, and even spiritual development.". - Edward O. Wilson
Harvard University Pulitzer Prize Recipient (To the American Psychological Association National Convention)

SPECIAL REPORT ON LEADERSHIP AND NATURAL SYSTEM DYSFUNCTION
Natural System Dysfunction (NSD) consists of our denial that our thinking is psychologically addicted to excessively nature disconnected ways of knowing, ways that diminish our natural health and senses, our resilience and the environment. Organic Psychology reverses NSD by thoughtfully helping our consciousness connect with and more fully register natural senses and systems. It enables us to increase our well-being by, in theory and practice, injecting the transformational balance, grace and restorative powers of nature in our thinking and relationships.
Enjoy the well-being produced by learning to think and co-create organically with natural systems within and about you.
