KEEPING CENTERED: TOOLS
FOR GROUNDING AS NATURE'S CHILD
The plunge of both my hot and
cold hands into the medium temperature water was a dive into
the center of our pendulum experience of teetering between extremes.
The extremes deny the value of the other where the center acknowledges
the benefit in the balance and awareness of all in the webstring
natural law of existence.
I think that the Mimbres person who created this design (the
Institute icon above) was expressing the truest nature of all
existence. The thought of nature and man as a centered unified
field of balance, support and sustainable need.
It is so pleasant to follow the process in the Webstring
Model. I went to visit a friend in one of the most natural
areas that remains in SW Florida along the Estero River. The
oaks are dynamic and are the playground for much life. The wren,
woodpecker and the squirrels were busy singing and gathering.
The bamboo groves spoke freely as they swayed in the unusually
cool April breeze and there strength reminded me that I have
the ability to prevail and support conscious change even though
so much of our natural environment is being laid low for shopping
malls and urban sprawl. To see the new shoots and debris of natures
byproducts recycle keeps me from completely loosing my center.
This class has given me the tools to reconnect to myself as nature's
child, facilitator of reconnections and guardian of all life;
offering others the opportunity to make their own respectful,
consensual connection to earth, self and to others.
I entered the property and asked for consent to connect and to
receive teachings. My breath became calm and my senses came into
focus. I left the industrialized world and entered a central
sacred space that welcomed my presence. I began to walk the property
and was drawn to the majesty of a huge oak that leaned a bit
to the left and heard the sound of a variety of wildlife. I stopped
and looked up and stayed for 10 minutes enjoying the playful
and productive activities that were happening. Moved onto several
bamboo grooves and was immediately in a state of student as they
spoke, swayed and were in various stages of re-creation. To be
known, nature must be known on its own non-verbal, sensory terms
and then translated. It speaks to each of us in a most personal
way!!!!
To reconnect we need to recognize
that we have become desensitized by extremes, that all life is
a unified field that is interrelated, interdependent and sustainable.
Through this activity I am now capable of sharing the gifts I
have received so others may make their own nature connection.
The only way these sensory webstrings would be unavailable is
if earth, as we know it, no longer existed. As long as there
is life these attractions will be here. Recently I find that
I can no longer relate to earth disconnected from centering by
webstrings. Instead of feeling helpless, I can now live a life
connected and offer others the same personal opportunity.
Amanda wrote " I am always inspired and rewarded by the
great canopy of this (magnolia) tree and its regeneration of
leaves year after year. After Hurricane Hugo it was stripped
bare and took years to recover. It lends a terrific sense of
place for me-as it shaded my piazza and kept company with me
on a daily basis for years in all weather. On the ground
looking uo I am humbled with reverence and awe at its old weathered
wisdom." Amanda, I am deeply touched by your loving
description of this special tree in your life and your appreciation
of all that it has represented.
Dorit wrote: " Later on I was attracted to lie down on
a rock and look at the sky. I could see in my mind a picture
of the sky, touching Earth, and a man rests in the place where
Sky and Earth meet, together with the other members of nature.
And then as I continued to rest there relaxing on the rock, I
felt myself in the oneness of this "big picture" of
sky and earth and all life growing on Mother Earth."
I don't think it gets any better than this; Oneness experienced!!
The Natural Systems Thinking Process gives us a practical means
to resolve conflict and restore integrity on a personal and environmental
levels. I recognize that because we are nature renegades, to
reconnect with nature, relationships must be entered by gaining
consent and measured by their long term effects on local and
global life in balance. I have become more aware and energized.
I remember that I am capable of supporting all life.
