NOTE:

This page offers valuable rewards to individuals who recognize four basics of Organic Psychology:

1. We are part of nature and it sustains the global life community without producing our garbage, disorders or abusiveness.

2. Natural systems pervade nature and are self-correcting. They recycle, purify and nurture wherever they flow.

3. We excessively suffer our disorders because we don't connect with nature's grace, balance and restorative powers to help us remedy our troubles.

4. We spend, on average, 98 percent of our life indoors, separated from nature. To our loss, our thinking and feeling are extremely disconnected from nature's healing ways.

I AM LEARNING TO LOVE MYSELF AS MUCH AS NATURE DOES

An Organic Psychology Report from an Online Course Participant

How neat that this whole chapter in Reconnecting With Nature was an activity. And not just any activity, probably the coolest activity yet. Walking through the woods on Thanksgiving Day with the understanding that nature and I are one. That I was walking through my sub-conscious. My sub-conscious on display before my very eyes. It was awesome.

I was attracted to go for a walk out in the woods. About 5 minutes into the walk a boy who was playing with his friends on a trampoline got hurt. Normally I would have walked on by because I don't know what to do, I am not a father (a restrictive new brain story I carry). Luckily I had wiped out many innacurate stories in my mind and was able to connect with the children immediately and make sure the boy was okay.

I felt so in touch and confident to help the little boy. I appreciated not having the urge to fix him. I let the boy feel the pain and consoled him. Then the children and I started to make jokes and laugh and we moved the boy onto a stump while he recuperated.

I left the children playing and continued my walk. Down to a section of land that I would really love to steward soon. And I felt the immense joy it would be to able to steward this chunk of land. Having people come out and re-connect with nature.

I gazed up at the sky which was a fantastic shade of purple. I have not seen a colored sky like this before. I started back up to my apartment totally beaming with appreciation for my beautiful sub-conscious. I felt very connected to every thing. I walked the rest of the way drumming on a glass jar I had picked up feeling wonderfully connected.

I discovered how much I recognize nature and I are truly one, that I feel it in my body and know it in my mind. I am as perfect as nature is and I love my life.

This experience in nature shows me I am a person who gets good feelings when I take away old new brain stories and allow myself to be in the flow of nature. It helped me explore letting my sub-conscious and nature be the same and take a walk into my sub-conscious when I love myself. I would be a shell of a man if this where taken from me.

I truly am learning to love myself as much as nature does.

Thanks for Reading This

Jack

RESPONSE:

Hello Jack,

You said, "I gazed up at the sky which was a fantastic shade of purple. I have not seen a colored sky like this before. I started back up to my apartment totally beaming with appreciation for my beautiful sub-conscious. I felt very connected to every thing."

Direct sensory validations of primal (first) kinship with Nature are regenerative, strengthening, and healing experiences for me. Your words used to describe your experiences are always clear and expressive of self-evident validations for me too Jack.

The process of Organic Psychology gradually unties the knots of nature-disconnected authorities and cultural filters that can be overwhelming if not understood through a gentle and artful process. I've experienced clarity and understandings that would not have occurred without such an educational process. The thoughtfulness re-nourishes, re-educates, and regenerates self-worth and kinship with nature in and around me, in a gentle harmonious reweaving.

I was deeply touched by the movie "What the Bleep" and it has helped me become more empowered and liberated to choose positive thought patterns and let go of negative bonds. The big message I gained from What the Bleep is similar to this statement from the activity description in Chapter 4, which says, "This activity empowers us to reverse our irresponsible tendencies because it helps us release our destructive bonds and reconnects us to constructive relationships and participation with nature"

Your earlier description of the organic farm attracts me most of all, because I want what you describe. I am so excited for the next phase of my life, when my husband and I go live on land in Northern California as a work exchange, and work to create an organic garden and educational program. I don't know that we'll have livestock for some time, but I love the idea of having and caring for happy chickens, sheep, goats and cows. It sounds like a lot of work, but absolutely wonderful nature-connecting work.

Thanks Jack.

Always your friend,

Kate

"Human behavior is rooted most deeply in nature's intentions and desire. The rhythms of nature underlie all of human interaction: religious traditions, economic systems, cultural and political organization. When these human forms betray the natural psychic pulse, people and societies get sick, nature is exploited and entire species are threatened."

-Stephen Aizenstat

In industrial society our excessively nature-separated lives mold us to betray the natural psychic pulse. We learn to block from our thinking over 98 percent of the wise sensory callings and fulfillments we normally receive from natural systems and their eons of experience. Our subconscious hurt and frustration from the severed disconnection of these senses underlies our greatest troubles.

-Michael J. Cohen
