I found myself immediately drawn to the thunder. As yes, we actually received rain in Arizona. But it was so exciting to have a mid day thunderstorm. The thunder was filled with such great energy. I felt as if I was a guest at a royal ball, immediately welcomed, and invited to enjoy the festivities. I decided to sit in my living room, with the windows open and watch the rain, and clouds with my cats. It was magical as I began to imagine and ponder, if without a calendar, if I could tell when seasons change. I have been using this fascination and curiosity to help me connect with nature. I pretend sometimes, I am 5000 or so years ago, and how I would know when to plant and harvest and so forth. I then realized, as the thunder roared, the rain went pitter patter, and oh my favorite smell of all times, the orange blossom, had invited me in and greeted me with a huge orange blossom hug.. I was in heaven. I then realized this would be one of my signs of the seasons changing. Along with the fresh, crispy, energetic buds of green and many other colors peeking and reaching for the heavens. The energy shifts as well, along with the birds. I decided to go outside for a bit as the thunder was calling me closer. I then began to realize a pattern. In Arizona at least, usually the week of spring, we receive thunder storms. Two to three weeks after summer solstice we receive thunderstorms, fall we receive thunderstorms 3 weeks after, and winter we receive thunderstorms one to two weeks before winter solstice. I found this fascinating . There was a yin yang to a context. I was drawn in closer to the roaring of the thunder, and couldn't help but wonder if weather is a way of Mother nature doing reiki? Is it a balancing of the energies for the seasons. As I know with Chinese philosophy, as I have mentioned this before, when there is thunder/lightening, it is heaven and earth having intercourse. And to believe this philosophy I find it fascinating, as with these thunderstorms , is the start , or beginning time of the seaons, and a time for planting or harvesting. I began to realize, and think about the Indians, as with some of my classmates we have discussed before how the pots many Indian tribes use to store their seeds in, have a lightening bolt painted on the pottery. It came together the matching of the energies of the thunder. I began giving sending much energy with permission to the thunder, thanking for such great creation. Thunder provides the earth with 90% of our methane, which helps things grow, along with it acts as an energy source. I thanked the thunder for it,s great energy. As I felt the thunder was an alarm clock for all of the dormant, sleeping buds, plants, blossoms and animals, saying, it is time to wake up sleepy heads. I found it's rumble to be as if it was a symphony to help spring emerge , bringing the energy to a new , refreshing spring energy. I became mesmerized with the balancing, in my eyes a form of reiki, or yin and yang going on. Nature's balnce was right in front of me. As the thunder roared, a yang energy and the rain poured a yin energy, much new energy flowed freely. Bringing, what some people consider winter to be a dead look, to a refreshed and renewed born again look. Just like our cells, constantly dying and being reborn. The thunder led me to thank my cells for the support they have provided me with, and the balancing they keep at hand. The rain and thunder began to pass, I felt as if it was a king leaving a kingdom, the sun was there the whole time in support, helping dry up, and even bringing a greater energy, from what I felt to the plants. Almost like a spa day. How fun! Maybe thunder is a masseuse for the earth, wit its vibrations and the pitter patter splashes of the ting little droplets of water filled with life, turning to a much harder chop chop feeling with hail coming in full force. The mother earth received her massage, the birds came out singing and tweeting a different tune then before. Maybe the tweets are a bird's way of saying thank you and sending good energy back into mother nature. As the thunder is deep, the tweets are high pitched. I am still pondering this experience, as balance and understanding came full force with gratitude. It also provided me with a great realization of how to take care of myself. Thank you project nature, mother nature, and universe for this incredible experience. How would I feel about having web strings taken away: deprived of such an incredible realization, and deprived of such a magical ceremony that took place. I also feel , just in my mind, like one of those v8 commercials, where they show a person slanted to one side, unbalanced, that is how I would feel, wobbly at that too. I find myself loving myself even more. I will be honest, that is a huge statement for me, as I was one who would cringe at a photo of me, or even a mirror. But I found myself after this activity, loving myself. In fact, right after this, I am going to do a spa day, and well I started a cleanse, just like the seasons, to say thank you to my body!
