The Organic Solution: What our leaders are paid to omit.

We excessively suffer from war and many other disorders simply because our socialization makes it taboo for us to use a readily available remedy for them.

How many leaders are gurus that teach us that, within and about us, we hold natural systems in common with each other and with every other form of life relationship?

Are we aware that natural systems, like the water cycle, are self-correcting and that they purify and nurture whatever they touch?

What Guru shows us that by the time we are six years of age, industrial society has socialized us to separate from, conquer and exploit natural systems rather than respect or embrace them? Be alarmed! This education hurtfully disconnects our thinking and feeling from the grace, balance and restorative powers of natural systems. It leaves us vulnerable to many disorders and wounding relationships.

Shouldn't we be training to use Organic Psychology, a readily available sensory nature-connected learning process that provides us with the tools we need? They help us bring the healing and recycling powers of natural systems into our psyche. There, these powers enable us to transform the early childhood contamination of our thinking and feeling into supportive relationships.

By using and teaching Organic Psychology we increase our ability to remedy our personal, social and environmental disorders and enjoy sustainable personal and professional relationships. To this end natural career education training, degrees and jobs are subsidized to help interested individuals serve as real gurus who help people benefit from the organic application of ecopsychology.

A CONNECTION TO SHARE WITH MY CHILDREN

An Organic Psychology Report from an Online Course Participant

"Recently I went to a nature trail near where I work and did an Organic Psychology activity there. This place seems mysterious to me. I have yet to encounter another human being when I've gone there.

During the twenty minutes I carved from my lunch hour, I recall feeling amazed yet a little scared because I was alone.

While I was sitting quietly at the edge of the man made pond, a dragon fly landed on me twice. It was very unique and had such bright red markings. I just let it sit and did not "swish" it away like I normally might have. I just sat there enjoying the connection between us, that for some reason it had chosen to land on me and stay. (the color of my sweater, my warmth, curiosity?)

As I was sitting and enjoying the dragonfly, a mink came out of the water and looked at me. It might have continued in my direction if I had not jumped and startled it and the dragonfly. This was the abrupt end to my time there that day. I felt a completion- like that was enough for that day.

I thanked the area for allowing me to be there. Since that day I have acquired a book with pictures of our local animals- I was not sure what I had seen at first. I have never seen a mink before even though I have heard they are common in our area.

After leaving this area, I felt renewed, refreshed, and thankful. Things felt "in perspective". Nature itself was my guru. I get so caught up in all the "people stuff" I have(?) to do each day that I forget about nature and how I need to be out there, not just looking at it from my desk window. The experience was so vibrant and vivid. There was a whole rainbow of colors- green- grass and the markings of ducks , cool blue water, white clouds, the air smelled clean and mildly sweet, the only sound was the wind blowing and the faint chirping of birds. There was a distinct absence of sound- no telephones ringing, cars, or people talking. Perhaps that is part of what heals us-the chance to be quiet.

My mood changed from anxious and stressed to calm and connected. This is not an experience that I was taught in any guru, classroom or book nor a one-time phenomenon I have since enjoyed many positive experiences in nature and had similar experiences during meandering nature walks alone and with others.

The words I would use to describe this experience are "soothing", healing" and "energizing". It helped me remember that "we are nature" and that it is our responsibility as humans to be respectful and helpful to the other life-forms that we have the privilege of sharing the planet with.

I felt very drawn to "give something back". I thought of the native american pratice of leaving a little tobacco. I left the crust of my organic bread for nature. It was empowering to think of what lifeforms may use it.

I am looking forward to going back there very soon for I gained intense appreciation

Somehow my alone space evaporated this week. I have been thinking about a real tree that I want to offer a gift to...it is right out front and also sits over a skylight above my bed... I went for a walk and thought about all the things I appreciate about this island home and little gifts appeared--a perfect red berry, a fir cone, a frozen leaf...I asked for consent to collect these gifts and took them back to the tree. I found that I especially wanted to honor and made a little altar/sculpture out of the things and put it at the base of the tree. It felt good to do this both though the gathering process and through creating a special relationship with the tree. Everyday I can now watch how this gift changes and goes back to the earth in a different form... I like giving and how receiving is built right into it.

I discovered that I am someone who gets real good feelings from connecting to trees. I am someone who will share this with my children.

"Human behavior is rooted most deeply in nature's intentions and desire. The rhythms of nature underlie all of human interaction: religious traditions, economic systems, cultural and political organization. When these human forms betray the natural psychic pulse, people and societies get sick, nature is exploited and entire species are threatened."

-Stephen Aizenstat

In industrial society our excessively nature-separated lives mold us to betray the natural psychic pulse. We learn to block from our thinking over 95 percent of the wise sensory callings and fulfillments we normally receive from natural systems and their eons of experience. Our hurt and frustration from the severed disconnection of these senses underlies our greatest troubles.

-Michael J. Cohen

Benefit from learning to repair the natural psychic pulse within and around us. Add the sensory ecoscience of Organic Psychology to your life and livelihood.
