EARTH IS ALL, I AM ALL
I just returned from a three-day
international conference with representatives from 102 countries,
all working together for peace. It was such a great experience
being with people who are helping each other! A number of prior
heads of state, cabinet ministers, religious leaders, members
of congress from various countries, etc. Reminds me in some ways
of our activity for this time!
I went to my back yard for this experience, in the morning mist.
It was quite beautiful sitting there in the quiet; yet with so
much going on. Fish, the bullfrog, geese, robins, cardinals,
the wind, gently nudging the back of my neck to make sure that
I got the love and aliveness and interaction of nature's attraction
essence. Nature itself stopped for a moment, to make sure that
I knew that yes, the permission was absolutely there to interact,
but to make sure that the deepest levels of relationship were
touched, honored and resonated.
In reading this exercise for the first time a few days ago, the
first things that occurred to me about the earth/me relationship
were the following. This is not exactly as the exercise suggests,
but it is what first happened for me, and then moves to the next
phase.
* Earth is being abused. I have been abused.
* Earth is being ignored. I have been ignored.
* Earth has been raped. I have been raped.
* Earth's survival has been threatened. My own survival has been
threatened.
* The earth has been used for its energy. I have been used for
my energy.
* The earth has been disrespected. I have been disrespected.
* The earth has been not understood. I have not been understood.
* The earth has been neglected. I have been neglected.
* The earth has been hurt. I have been hurt.
In immersing myself in nature this morning, the following experiences
came clearly:
* The earth sustains. I sustain.
*The earth balances. I balance.
*The earth enlivens. I enliven.
*The earth nurtures others. I nurture others.
*The earth breathes life into others. I breathe life into others.
*The earth supports. I support.
*The earth energies. I energize.
* The earth loves. I love.
*The earth shares. I share.
* The earth is real; natural. I am real, natural.
*The earth permeates and caresses. I permeate and caress.
*The earth appreciates. I appreciates.
*The earth celebrates. I celebrate.
*The earth praises God. I praise God.
*The earth sustains diversity. I sustain diversity.
*The earth is lush; joyous. I am lush; joyous.
*The earth loves me into being. I love others into being.
*The earth is feminine, sustaining both feminine and masculine.
I sustain both feminine and masculine.
*The earth loves very personally. I love very personally.
*The earth is the all. I am all.
I particularly liked the two hands in the picture for this chapter.
Equal hands, working together in partnership. Strong hands; vital.
Also was very intrigued and fascinated with the quote, referring
to the earth being "marvelously skilled in handling the
sun." What an exquisitely deep perception of the interaction!
