An IGE program in Applied Ecopsychology Special Cooperative Certificate/Degree Program

Welcome to Institute of Global Education special cooperative program of courses and degrees that help you master the Natural Systems Thinking Process (NSTP). NSTP enables you to make a distinct, significant, contribution to building relationships in a supportive balance with self, society and the environment.

If NSTP reflects a truth of your values and experience, this program guarantees that you may, through cooperation, attain your goals without financial hardship.

NOTICE: depending upon the state of the economy this program is occasionally offered to assist in financial aid. Its last deadline was November 11, 2002. Future dates for it to be in effect have not yet been announced.

PURPOSE

August, 2002: With the recent decline in the economy combined with increasing interest in livelihoods that effectively deal with the core of today's problems, IGE's scholarship program has been unable to meet the financial needs of many highly qualified program applicants whose skills and values the world desperately needs.

To address this challenge, IGE is sponsoring a special Cooperative Certificate Program (CCP) commencing November 11, 2002 ("Armistice Day"). CCP operates largely on trust in order to help its participants learn how to build trust. CCP works by its participants being painstakingly honest and cooperative.

After computing their correct total tuition fee with or without scholarship funding, applicants can opt, when need commands, to pay for their degree or certification with the CCP financial aid payment plan.

NOTE: Depending upon its success, the CCP may only be a one time offering so if it will be of help to you, take advantage of it now, while it is available.

TUITIONS

The application and base tuition fee for CCP is $740. It includes all the core books needed to complete the total program and reduced tuition fees for the first semester's courses (12 credits see Certification page).. Additional tuition is paid on a course credit basis and is solely based on the student's ability to pay for each additional course credit and/or otherwise financially contribute to the program in kind. For each additional course or credit beyond the first semester's core courses, the student submits a contract stating how much of the $200/credit fee the can and will pay and when. This will remain in effect up to and through all the courses required for Certification. The student may then opt to obtain Certification and/or continue on with the degree program.

Students qualify for Certification or continuing with the Degree if they have been successful as supportive members of CCP as well as demonstrate the ability to apply NSTP and their coursework to their field of interest.

The research and Degree portion of the program after the first 30 credits will cost upward of $2,000 for the Ph.D. ($1600 MS) depending upon the University you select to complete the program with.

CCP needs 30 participants in order for it to function. To help meet this goal, each participant commits to helping CCP find additional participants by designing and implementing an informal public education program that lets people know about NSTP and the IGE program including CCP. The experience and skills learned in doing this apply towards the Public Relations and Education course ECO 522.

CCP places groups of four to six students in a study group for each six month semester. During the first semester these groups will take four core courses together in sequence after completing the Orientation Course, 12 credits when possible. As students learn the skills of a course, they will function as a facilitator for others who are first beginning that course.

CCP APPLICATION AND ADMISSION PROCESS

Use and follow the instructions on the Application Form for Cooperative Certificate Program.

CCP QUESTIONS ASKED AND ANSWERED:

Is the program and course work different for CCP?
No, it is exactly the same program, quality and dedication. What differs is that tuition payment is a trust relationship based on actual ability to pay. This includes higher payments by some that balance off the lower payments by others. It also includes its participants putting energies into educating the public about the availability of the program.

How does CCP differ from the Scholarship Program?
To meet fluctuating economic conditions, after the first reduced rate semester CCP tuitions vary from course to course based on the student's ability to pay at the time they sign up for the course. Payments are completely based on a trust relationship with the understanding that some tuitions may voluntarily become higher while others will become lower as the economy and people's situations vary. The trust relationship trusts that participants will not unfair advantage of the program and paying less than they can afford. To do so places the entire program at risk. Thus, the core of the program is the honesty and dedicated sense of community of its participants to each other and to the program's social and environmental contributions.
