INSTITUTE OF GLOBAL EDUCATION
Special NGO Consultant, United Nations Economic and Social Council

Project NatureConnect: presents remedies for the great problems we suffer whose underlying cause has been demonstrated to be our excessive disconnection from nature.

An opportunity is available for a writer-author to ghost write freelance content for a natural-holistic book, column or article that brings to public attention a readily available breakthough antidote for our critical disorders .

THE TOPIC

The Origin and Remedy for Natural System Dysfunction (NSD): restoring the powers of natural systems to transform our disorders into personal, social and environmental well being

"Human behavior is rooted most deeply in nature's intentions and desire. The rhythms of nature underlie all of human interaction: religious traditions, economic systems, cultural and political organization. When these human forms betray the natural psychic pulse, people and societies get sick, nature is exploited and entire species are threatened."

- Stephen Aizenstat

Project NatureConnect at the Institute of Global Education (IGE), a special NGO consultant to United Nations Environmental and Social Council, has identified a debilitating mental ailment, Natural System Dysfunction (NSD), as well as an antidote for it.

NSD drives us disassociate our psyche from the natural psychic pulse. This deteriorates natural systems within us and that reduces our resilience to the many social and medical disorders we suffer.

NSD is the underlying cause of great troubles that plague industrial society, troubles neither displayed nor initiated by societies that closely associate themselves with natural systems. NSD erodes our well being and inflates our education, health, and human service costs:

"Most of our populace and all of our leaders are participating in a mass hallucinatory fantasy in which:

  • the megatons of waste we dump in our rivers and bays are not poisoning the water, our body or our spirit.
  • the hydrocarbons we pump into the air are not changing the climate of the world or deteriorating our health.
  • overfishing is not depleting the oceans, over consumption does not hurt the environment.
  • living estranged from nature's grace and restorative powers does not reduce our resilience or result in dysfunctions.
  • fossil fuels will never run out,
  • our senses and feelings are not an important part of the way our natural systems work.
  • wars that kill masses of civilians are an appropriate way to keep our hands on what's left,
  • we are not desperately overdrawn at the environmental or emotional bank,
  • sensory activities that connect our thinking to nature's healing ways don't help us increase our well being,
  • and really, although by the age of seven our kids bond to this mass hallucination and need to be drugged, they are all right."

..........- Barbara Kingsolver. (edited)

The Organic Antidote for Natural System Dysfunction.

Groups of people with NSD have been taught to use and teach an easily-learned organic form of psychology that enables them to genuinely connect their psyche with natural systems. The results demonstrate that Organic Psychology is a readily available antidote for NSD. It empowers us to reduce most troubles on personal and global levels and helps us form attractive living situations that are environmentally and socially responsible.

The Organic Psychology health and wellness experience deeply helps us reconnect natural systems within us to their origins in the whole of nature. As a result of participants educating themselves this way:

Chemical dependencies, including alcohol and tobacco, disappeared as did destructive social relationships.

Personality and eating disorders subsided

Violence, crime and prejudice were unknown in the group.

Academics improved because they were applicable, hands-on and fun.

Loneliness, hostility and depression subsided. Group interactions allowed for stress release and management; each day was fulfilling and relatively peaceful.

Students using meditation found they no longer needed to use it. They had learned how to sustain a nature-connected community that helped them improve their resiliency.

Participants knew each other better than they knew their families or best friends.

Participants felt safe. They risked expressing and acting from their deeper thoughts and feelings. A profound sense of social and environmental responsibility guided their decisions.

When vacation periods arrived, neither staff nor student wanted to go home. Each person enjoyably worked to build this supportive, balanced living and learning utopia. They were home.

Students sought and entered right livelihood professions upon graduation.

All this occurred simply because every community member met their commitment to make sense of their lives by establishing and sustaining health and wellness sensory relationships that supported and helped restore the natural world within and around them.

Today, backyard or backcountry, people gain health and wellness from Organic Psychology readings and activities at home, work or school, or via the Internet.

THE WRITING OPPORTUNITY

We seek a writer who has suffecient NSD resilience or immunity to be able to recognize the significance of Organic Psychology and be interested in informing the public of its value by writing about it for publications and/or as a screenplay.

NSD and Organic Psychology are the topic of a chapter in a book that will be published shortly. For background information on the topic, writers are invited to read this chapter online. This chapeter may be modified or edited for use in other publications.

If this opportunity is of interest to you, please contact Dr. Michael J. Cohen for further details, questions and arrangements. 360-378-6313

"It is quite clear to me after several years in the environmental movement that all physical problems of man's impact on the environment - pollution of the air and waters, the desecration of the land, the contamination of the food chain - all start within the environment of man's mind."

"We have repressed far more than our sexuality: our very organic nature is now unconscious to most of us, most of the time, and we have become shrunken into two dimensional social or cultural beings, aware of only five of the hundreds of senses that link us to the rich biological nature that underlies and nourishes these more symbolic and recent aspects of ourselves."
