FIVE PATHS FOR GWSG PERSONAL SUPPORT GROUP COMMUNICATION
An essence of the GWSG program.
The GWSG guided support groups (above) have five different ways to communicate by email and phone. Thoughtfully and supportively using this attraction based communication system is your key to achieving your academic goals in cooperative, distant learning. It is the heart of the program. It enables us to use, and learn how to operate the program.
1. COMMUNICATE WITHIN YOUR GUIDE GROUP. Before you enroll in courses or start projects or waivers, submit papers, obtain grades etc. you should submit them along with an explanation to your guide group. Once they give suggestions and approval, you send your petition or work to me (faculty member) for approval for your next step.
2. COORDENATING COMMITTEE The committee and I are all on a separate mailing list together. They are consultants to me with respect to questions and suggestions from the groups and Universities regarding aspects of operating GWSG and vice versa.
3. COMMUNICATE WITH THE ENTIRE GWSG An all-GWSG newletter will be sent in which announcements and information to all GWSG members can be posted by anyone. It will not be edited but will contain guidelines. It should only be used for announcements and discussion that are of interest to all, or for subjects directed to me. Just skim it like a newspaper and read/respond what is attractive to you in it concerning activities and folks in GWSG. If you are getting too much mail, request this newsletter in digest form, one letter per day that includes all letters sent.
4. PHONE THE FACULTY. Anybody is welcome to contact me by email or phone at their convenience at nature@pacificrim.net or 1-888-285-4694 Participants may also phone each other by mutual consent.
5. THE PROFESSIONAL LIST. You all should be on the professional email list for occasional IGE announcements that also pertain to people not in the GWSG.
