Graduate Student Cooperative Financial Aid

Whenever possible, the Institute of Global Education Fund (IGE FUND) makes available work study funds and other financial assistance to Graduate Student cooperative (GSC) members in good standing who petition that they are not able to afford GSC Degree or Certificate programs. Documentation of their petition is produced via an independent agency or its processes.

Financial Aid is made available in the form of

A. Assistance with grants or scholarship applications to appropriate organizations.

B. A student loan and work study program . The funds for it are derived from tuitions and fees for programs and products offered by the GSC. Loan and work-study programs to help in this regard make the financial aid possible.

C. Direct grants or scholarships when GSC funds are available.

D. Stipends earned from payment for facilitating self or IGE generated courses in other organizations.

E. A financial need, reduction in tuition that results from completing our Financial Assistance Application.

THE GSC GRANT, LOAN AND WORK-STUDY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE PROCESS:

Doctoral Admission Compatibility Grant:

If a doctoral student completes a short NSTP Compatibility Grant essay and does well in the Orientation Course (ECO 500) and, optionally, the Natural Attractions Course (ECO 508), a $1,500 IGE grant award is awarded on their behalf towards their payment of the total $10,500 Doctoral Program tuition. The funds for this grant come from savings made from reduced IGE time and expenditures that are often otherwise necessary for less qualified applicants. For further information select here.

Public Relations Grant:

A series of $1,000 IGE public relations grants are available towards the payment of the GSC component Doctoral Program tuition. One or more grants are awarded to students for each less than 300 word public relations proposal and contract that they write and then successfully impliment. The proposal(s) describe who, when and how they will contact or educate the public using the Techniques For Applicants material found in 7 below.

The purpose of the grant is to inform the public about NSTP in ways that bring additional participants into the Orientation Course and/or the degree program.

Grant efforts include and help the student meet some requirements of the student's Degree Program core course ECO522 Applied Ecopsychology Public Relations and Marketing.

Financial Assistance:

3. A student in good standing completes an IGE FUND financial aid form that documents their need and desire for financial aid and that no other source of financial aid is available to them.

4. A bank loan towards tuition assistance may arranged for the student. It makes partial payments of the student's tuition for courses and/or materials for GSC programs.

5. A contract between the student and IGE is made that states the total amount being loaned, the interest rate and the time schedule for repayment.

6. The loan is payed back to IGE in the form of cash or from the student's involvement in Work-Study projects that demonstrably increase the use of and net income from GWSG services and products equal to or surpassing the amount of the loan. The work-study projects include the Public Relations Grant (above) :

A. New income producing enrollments in GSC programs that result from public relations efforts by the student. These efforts would include and help the student meet the requirements of the student's Degree Program course ECO522 Applied Ecopsychology Public Relations and Marketing

B.new income producing programs that result from the efforts of the student. These include qualified students receiving payment for administering/teaching the ECO 508 course to interested students at other schools.

C. Grants or subsidies to GSC that would free-up funds for use in financial aid and other projects that support GSC.

D. Other sources or services described and arranged by contracts of intent.
